How Can I Make Positive Changes to my Business's Sustainability?

More and more businesses are starting to plan for carbon neutrality voluntarily, as there are many ways to make a big impact, while improving your bottom line. Here’s just a few:

  • Use the Queensland Chamber of Commerce free EcoBiz program to save your business money, whilst also making your operation more sustainable.
  • Climate Active is a partnership between the Australian Government and Australian businesses to encourage voluntary climate action. Climate Active certification is awarded to businesses that have credibly reached net zero emissions. Certification is available for:
    • buildings
    • events
    • organisations
    • precincts
    • products and services
  • Become a B-Corp Business. Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balance purpose and profit. B Corporations, or B Corps, make decisions that make a positive impact across their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment.
  • Getting serious? Need to formally report on your emissions?
The Emissions and Energy Reporting System (EERS) is the system for all reporting under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007 (NGER Act). This site is where you will find all the formulas behind carbon emissions calculations under the NGER Act and learn all about the formulas used in carbon accounting.
